Miata Lyric Video
Bear Cole - "Miata": An homage to both fatherhood and freedom.
As an artist, producer, songwriter and DJ, Bear Cole has a gift for transforming the seemingly ordinary aspects of everyday life into extraordinary musical experiences. "Miata", which is a high-energy indie-pop anthem, exemplifies this ability. He transforms the nostalgic sounds of synth-pop into an upbeat celebration of his son's first car – a red 1996 Mazda Miata. The day a child leaves home is a confusing mix of memories, feelings and emotions. Having become an empty nester at the time, Bear Cole chose to view this important moment in a positive and energetic manner by creating a song to commemorate the excitement and happiness associated with his son's new independence. A lively and catchy tune, "Miata" evokes the feeling of driving a convertible with the wind blowing through your hair and the music playing loud. Bear Cole raps rapidly about the excitement of being a passenger in the car with his son. He refers to him as "Jr. Astronaut" and expresses his pride in his son's ability to make decisions on his own by purchasing his own "autobot." Against a lush background of nostalgic synth-pop, the lyrics create a visual representation of the freedom and excitement that comes with owning your first car. Bear Cole expresses the joy and pride he feels as a father as he thinks back on how far he and his son have come together. The chorus builds up to a crescendo of anthemic energy and Bear Cole's vocals soar over the pulsing beat as he sings, "You’ll never keep him on the ground, You’ll never hold him down, Miata. It’s time to fly to outer space, He’s on his way, Yay!" This is a declaration of independence and a celebration of all the opportunities that lay ahead. Through "Miata," Bear Cole takes listeners on a nostalgic trip through the highs and lows of being a father while enjoying some of life's simple pleasures. With its memorable melodies and uplifting message, "Miata" reminds us to appreciate every moment and enjoy the ride, wherever it may take us. In today's uncertain world, "Miata" stands as a symbol of hope and resilience – a tribute to the lasting influence of love and family. Turn up the music, put the windows down, and allow Bear Cole's infectious rhythm to transport you on a ride you'll never forget!
