Turntable Kachina

Northern Arizona rhythm and physical sound

Turntable Kachina shapes vinyl-rooted hip-hop, downtempo, house and electronic music through the landscapes and night skies of Northern Arizona.

Rhythm, texture and space are central to the project. Dusty drums and warm low end meet atmospheric electronics, samples and melodic fragments, moving between meditative passages and dancefloor momentum. The idea behind Sound Is Matter treats sound as something with weight, history and the ability to change a room.

Turntable Kachina’s place in the 1st Drop Music catalog connects instrumental storytelling with DJ-informed selection and sequencing. Explore the releases below or visit the official website for more music, playlists and background on the project.
